WIC Produce Connection-Important Update for 2026: Last year, WIC Project FRESH, now called WIC Produce Connection, has changed. The program has done away with paper coupons. Benefits will now be loaded directly onto the WIC EBT card.
Because of this change, each farmer of grower must apply individually to paerticipate. Farmers market can no longer accept WIC benefits on behalf of Vendors.
Approved growers will need the ability to process the WIC EBT card using either a smartphone app or a POS device.
Reimbursement Available: Growers who enroll in WIC Produce Connection may be eligible for reimbursement of the processing fees associated with the required payment system (such as TotilPay) Once you are approved and set up in the program, you will receive instructions on how to submit those fees for reimbursement through the Michigan Farmers Market Association (MIFMA).

The team at WIC Produce Connection will also be hosting several upcoming virtual Town Hall Meetings to help answer questions and support growers who are interested in applying for the upcoming season. Registration is NOT required to attend, dates, times, and login information is below. Our first Grower Town Hall is March 5,2026.
